The Bildungsurlaub Spanish Program at Celas Maya is designed for professionals and employees from Germany who wish to combine intensive Spanish learning with cultural immersion in Guatemala. The program is structured to meet the academic and intensity requirements commonly associated with Bildungsurlaub educational leave programs.

Before the course begins, students complete a placement evaluation and learning needs assessment. Based on their level, professional background, and personal goals, an individualized study plan is developed to maximize language progress during their stay.

The program combines intensive Spanish instruction with practical communication, cultural experiences, and real-life immersion. Classes focus on speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary development, and intercultural communication, while also allowing students to explore Guatemalan culture and daily life through guided activities and interaction with the local community.

Courses are taught by experienced native-speaking instructors using a communicative and student-centered methodology that encourages active participation and rapid language development.

Depending on the student’s objectives, the program may also include specialized Spanish areas such as:

professional Spanish;
medical Spanish;
conversation and fluency development;
DELE or SIELE preparation;
and Spanish for travel and intercultural communication.
