Opis kursu

The Spring Camp, held over a two week period from Sunday 17 March to Sunday 31 March 2024, is one of four Camps we offer throughout the year, the others being the Winter, Summer, and Autumn Camps.

It is designed for young learners and teenagers who want to experience the Australian way of life, live with an Australian family, and improve their English language abilities. Parents may also join their children for either the English classes or the activities or for both.

Students can join for just one week, or for both weeks.

We receive students from diverse countrie, although as the dates coincide with the Japanese Spring holidays, most of the students are from Japan. It is possible to arrive earlier and to stay longer, as we still offer the English language classes for young learners and teenagers throughout the whole year.

In addition to the weekly fee, there is an initial Registration Fee of AUD$750 which covers airport transfers, homestay placement etc. This figure may reduce depending on the number of participants, and whether homestay and airport transfers etc. are required.

Opis szkoły

AICOL powstała w 1993 roku. Jest to najstarsza szkoła języka angielskiego na Gold Coast. Wszyscy nauczyciele są native speakerami języka angielskiego, w pełni wykwalifikowanymi i doświadczonymi. AICOL popiera również jakość NEAS.

Kursy są dostępne dla uczniów w wieku od 6 lat do seniorów. Sale lekcyjne są klimatyzowane i mają naturalne oświetlenie. Budynek szkoły znajduje się naprzeciwko Southport Broadwater Parklands, gdzie odbyły się zawody pływackie podczas Igrzysk Wspólnoty Brytyjskiej w 2018 roku.

Zaledwie 5 minut spacerem od szkoły znajduje się centrum handlowe Australia Fair, terminale autobusowe i nowo ukończona sieć lekkich kolei.

AICOL ma własną usługę pośrednictwa pracy u rodziny goszczącej, a także transfery lotniskowe. AICOL może również dokonywać rezerwacji aktywności dla studentów, z bardzo szeroką gamą zajęć do wyboru. Nasze obozy zimowe, wiosenne i letnie działają od lat i stały się znane na całym świecie.
   
Gold Coast oferuje 42 kilometry pięknych plaż, wspaniały klimat, wielokulturowe społeczeństwo i znajduje się zaledwie 45 minut od światowego dziedzictwa Lamington National Park.

Szkoła AICOL jest dogodnie usytuowana zaledwie 3 minuty spacerem od centrum handlowego Australia Fair w Southport Central Business District, gdzie znajduje się ponad 200 sklepów specjalistycznych i międzynarodowa hala gastronomiczna. Szkoła znajduje się zaledwie 45 minut od światowego dziedzictwa Lamington National Park.

Właśnie ukończono budowę nowej lekkiej kolei Gold Coast łączącej Southport z Griffith University, Surfers paradise i Broadbeach i zapewnia bardzo dogodne środki transportu publicznego w pobliżu naszej szkoły. Oraz ukończono nowe centrum wodne Gold Coast, które znajduje się naprzeciwko naszej szkoły. Niedawno odbyły się tam Mistrzostwa Pacyfiku w Pacyfiku oraz Igrzyska Wspólnoty Brytyjskiej w 2018 r.

"Very good"

I liked the classes but I was expecting to develop my conversation skills more.
I also liked the staff.
The classes had too many Japanese students but I cannot blame the school for that.
The extra activities were good but could be better. For example: Sea world, paradise country.
My host family was wonderful.

April is the Japanese Spring holidays, so naturally there will be a predominance of students from japan, but we appreciate your understanding and acceptance of the situation. The school had two classes for children. Overall, I did a lot of talking but very little of grammar. There were also too many exits out of school for activities which were not strictly related to teaching English.

Thank you for the feedback. We are always conscious of the need to balance study with activity, especially for young students. When activity is part of the classroom lesson, we do try to structure it so that it contains a learning experience. Having said that, we cannot get it right all the time, and we are sorry if your experience with us was not totally satisfactory. I have passed your comments on to our Director of Studies so that we may be aware of them when structuring future curricula.

As a general comment, please note that due to covid the circumstances of many of our regular homestay families have changed. Consequently, it has become more challenging to find good families. There is great demand for homestay families at the moment, so it is a matter of first come first served.

Students can choose to be placed with one of our homestay families, who will drive the student to school each day and pick them up after school if required. Families are located within an average of 20 minutes driving time by car from our school.

All families offer a caring and welcoming place in which students may learn about Australian culture and way of life, and practise their English. We try as best as possible to match each student with the most suitable homestay, according to the student's needs.

All homestay families are interviewed and their homes inspected, and all homestay family members over 18 years of age must hold blue cards (police clearance checks). Many of our homestay families have been accepting international students for 10 or more years, and are very experienced.

Our homestay families accept international students from 6 years of age. All students are given full details of their homestay families before they come to Australia, and the students and their parents are able to contact the homestay families direct before arriving in Australia.
